Background on the Original Optic

The AMG 1-10×24 FFP was originally a custom build commissioned by the British Ministry of Defence for a UK special forces unit. The brief was a 1-10x scope optimised for CQB but still accurate at long range, packed into an unusually short body with a short eye relief. After Vortex delivered the MoD contract, a slightly refined civilian version was released to the market. The scope went on to be issued as the official optic suite on the British Ministry of Defence’s KS-1 (L403A1) rifle system, compact enough to run on carbines fully kitted with thermal attachments, lasers, red dots and backup irons.
